Moar Goats n’ Stuff

You might think I’ve had my fill of goat’s milk in the last couple of weeks, after my widely reported goat’s milk butter binge (which, by the way, is far from over). Well my friend, you’re wrong. There’s always room for more goat’s milk in my life. Which is why, between tablespoons of butter, I’ve been able to put down a pint of goat’s milk frozen yogurt. Continue reading…

Goats n’ Stuff

For the past two days, I’ve been thinking about one thing, and one thing only: goat’s milk butter. I kid you not (get it? Kid? Ha food puns!).

In the middle of last night, I woke up with visions of goat’s milk butter racing through my mind, and an overwhelming urge to go upstairs at 4 am, break out a cube, and dig in. And even after telling myself over and over “Kelsey, go back to sleep. Stop thinking about butter,” the idea of spreading some over just warmed La Brea bread wouldn’t get out of my head. That’s not even true. I wasn’t even thinking about spreading it on bread. I just wanted to eat it by itself…what’s become of me?…continue reading

Knead Patisserie: My Best Friend and My Worst Enemy…But Mainly My Lover

The Best Pastry in San Francisco

Rating: ★★★★★

My love affair with Knead began 2 months back when I was on my way to pick up my morning coffee from Phillz. In the doorway of what I thought was Local Mission Eatery, there it was: a cart filled with all sorts of freshly baked pastries and cookies taunting me, tempting me to say to hell with those skinny jeans and indulge my cravings. It took me a whole, ummmmmm, 3 seconds to cave in, and now I can say it was the best decisions I’ve ever made…

Celebrating July 4th in True American Fashion…with Italian Food?

While patriotic Americans across the country honored the United States’ big 2-3-4 (or, really, the day off of work) by firing up the BBQ and chowing down on hot dogs, hamburgers, and of course, beer, my family broke from tradition and instead opted for a 3-day Italian feast. Makes sense, right?…

Eggs from our CSA vs. Costco Organic Eggs

I know they are both organic, but you have to admit, you can see the difference. Guess which one came from the CSA. Enough Said.

Give the Gift of Chocolate…to Me.

Rating: ★★★★★

CocoaBella, you had me at “try a free sample.”

Not only is this the best chocolate I’ve had in San Francisco, it’s also some of the best chocolate I’ve ever had. And that coming from a girl who went on a chocolate tour of both Brussels and Paris. I called it my “Obesity Tour.” Basically, CocoaBella has chocolates imported from all over the world and brings them together in one convenient location so that you can save all of that flight money and put it towards buying chocolate.

Bored with Beets

It’s Sunday. And raining. And unless George Clooney called me up for a date, nothing could get me out of this house, including leaving the comfort of my bed for much-needed groceries.

So, I’m left with rummaging through a relatively-empty refrigerator looking for anything that might sustain me. Spicy mustard and mayo on a warmed up tortilla? Hmmm not so appealing. Luckily, our veggie box came a couple of days ago and there were 2 beautiful beets calling my nameContinue Reading

Food – It’s What I Do.

Why, hello there. Well, after 4 years of writing, what one might say, sterling reviews for Yelp, I was finally yelled at by my co-workers for not starting something of my own. “Yell” might be a strong word. Seriously questioned is more like it. Although I may have been guilted into starting this, I’m now [...]
